U.K. e-Borders
The UK government has appointed 'Trusted Borders' to manage the UK borders project, called "e-Borders". The new law will require all carriers entering and leaving the UK to provide information on every passenger and every crew member, as follows:
The following Information must be provided ('Mandatory Information')
SI Data Items.(SI) Service information is information related to the flight the passenger or crew is travelling on. This information must be provided by
the carriers in all cases for both inbound and outbound journeys
Carriers are required to provide e-Borders with a means with which e-Borders will be able to link TDI data and OPI data which relate to the same passenger. In order to do this, Carriers will be required to submit an OPI locator code (this will likely take the form of a booking reference number) on submissions of both TDI and OPI. Note, that the provision of this OPI locator code will be mandatory only on those routes for which Carriers are required to submit OPI data.
Other Passenger Information (OPI)
Additional PNR data may be required. For full details please see the Airline Members Area
