Legacy Systems Integration
Airlines with multiple Operational Databases are in danger of being unable to access and exploit their data. Management is at risk of reaching different, or poor, decisions based on erroneous data. Legacy Systems prevent data being available to all staff throughout the world 24/7. User screens can be unfriendly and difficult to access. Fortunately, there is a simple solution. Data flows from several databases can be integrated into Airline Data Warehouse or Decision Support Database.
The Flight Register provides a fully hosted system to receive either 24 hour dumps of data or mission critical live feeds. The data is sent on a VPN link and integrated, seamlessly, into the Decision Support Database. No work is required from your IT department other than switching on the data flow. The Flight Register specialise in processing that data and then presenting it in easily accessible web-format. An example of complex legacy integration which The Flight Register undertook was the receipt of 30 data streams of, frequently corrupted, data from tour operators and converting these files into CSV. The legacy data was then re-presented in web format designed to sit on legacy travel agent desks. Young travel agents were able to search the availability of package holidays and then book the chosen product deep in the legacy system, without exiting from the web screens. This solution was used by NTL, Worldspan and Yahoo. To enquire about Integration of Databases please e-mail craig.sumner@flightregister.net
